We have experience of a wide range of accounting software. As such we can be of great assistance in both the selection and implementation of a suitable product for you, whether your requirements are quite modest or much larger and sophisticated. Our clients often rely on us for training and support with their systems.

For small business, our preference is for Quickbooks® software which is marketed by Intuit. This software is very user friendly, and yet retain a powerful set of features and functionality.

Quickbooks is our main choice, we are also registered as Professional Advisors for Quickbooks. The Quickbooks Pro version can handle businesses of up to 100 employees, with a maximum of 5 users. It is a multi-currency system and integrates well with Microsoft Office.

However, we are just as happy to assist clients with other accounting software. For example, we have extended the functionality of one client's Sage accounting software. We did this using a visual basic program of ours to extract data from their Sage accounting system using ODBC (open database connectivity).

For very small businesses... we believe that Excel often provides the best solution. We have our own template models which we are able to supply free of charge to clients. These range from a simple analysed cash book with automatic bank reconciliations, to ones with ledger controls.

We often find with new small clients that they have previously aquired accounting systems that they do not understand, and struggle to maintain properly. Quite often, all they need is Excel. Unfortunately, there is still a lot of ignorance regarding what can be achieved using Excel, even amongst professionals.
